Temp: Morning 65F, Afternoon 89F

The day started off as usual when i take a trip to N. WV. Wake up at 7 and usually takes about an 1.5 hrs to get there.

I arrived at 8:30. Was a nice cool morning. I had talked to a buddy the night before who said he had a freind count 9 Timbers 2 days before… So i was quite exited about the trip, sence I had a general idea of where the guy seen them, and also heard rumors of a den in that area but I had no real proof yet.

After reading, talking to people and reserching. I took a trip inserch of the (so common Timbers and Copperheads) of the area.. Both times I went 1 for 4 hrs one for 8 hrs.

No timbers or coppers in the 6 or so places I hiked.
But Im sure Ill try back there in fall or next spring.

1 unknown Salamader.
1 C. Garter Snake.

Seen my 1st PA Common Snapping turtle today.
No photos.
It was crossing the road on my way home. So i turned around stopped in the road and helped it across. Maybe he made it to where it was headed. Was a pertty big guy . Probably a 15″ carapace. 10-15lbs.
